November, 2008

What an eventful month it has been! Alex learned how to sit up on his own, and he also rolled over from his back to his tummy for the first time. He has started eating rice cereal as well as peas and carrots and he seems to like the new variety in his diet. Alex is such a happy baby, and continues to smile and laugh out loud all the time. He especially loves watching and playing with his big brother.

Aidan had a big month, too, as he is now almost potty-trained. He caught on to the whole process pretty quickly and generally stays dry during the day. He has no problem using the restroom in restaurants, stores, or other houses, and he cracks us up when he says "That's all I have" to let us know he's done. Aidan also started using the phrase "I love you" more often, especially when he wants something or does something wrong.

Happy Halloween!

We had a very fun Halloween this year, filled with trick-or-treating, multiple costumes and Halloween outfits, and enough cookies and candy to last us for a long time. Aidan picked up on the idea of trick-or-treating pretty quickly. He was very polite, always saying "trick or treat" with a big smile on his face and saying "thank you" as he moved on to the next house. By the end of our walk down the block, he was even blowing kisses to complete strangers!

October, 2008

We can't believe our little baby is five months old already. Time has gone by so quickly! Alex is getting more and more vocal with each passing day, and he loves to entertain us with his coos and laughter. He is still perfecting his tummy to back roll and is very close (we think) to his first back to tummy roll.  Alex graduated from his swing into his Exersaucer this month and loves spending time jumping and grabbing at the toys surrounding him while in it--another sign that our Baby Alex is growing up!

Aidan the two-year-old continues to amaze us with his ever-expanding vocabulary. He seems to need to hear something only once before permanently adding it to his repertoire. His new favorite game is hide-and-seek, and hiding in the same spot between the couch and the armoire can keep him entertained for quite some time. Aidan has a newfound love of marshmallows and suckers and asks for them all the time.
