Yes, it's been awhile! We've had a very busy couple of months and haven't had much free time to update this blog. So while these pictures are a little out of date, hopefully they will show a few of the things we've been up to. In January, Becky and Alex took a trip to Boston with Grandma Gwen to visit Aunt Angie, Uncle Tom, and Cousin James. Alex enjoyed having someone other than his brother to play with for a few days, and Becky enjoyed her prenatal massage and pedicure. We also said goodbye to our first house, where we had lived for a little over four years. It's amazing how much stuff we accumulated during that time! In the midst of packing up, we picked out our new house. Becky is excited about the granite countertops, master bathroom and closets, and pond in the backyard. Nickie is excited about the third garage stall, ledger board, and sprinkler system. Since our house won't be done until early July, we moved into Becky's parents' basement. It has been very convenient to be there and the boys certainly love being able to see Grandma and Grandpa whenever they feel like it. Also in January, Nickie graduated from St. Mary's University with his Master of Arts in Education degree. It is so nice to have our Wednesday nights free once again! In March, we sadly said goodbye to our Ford Escape and purchased a Dodge Caravan. All three boys love the new minivan; Becky is still getting used to it. It is nice to have the extra space, which will be needed very soon as we anxiously await the arrival of our baby boy.
Both boys continue to grow and change almost daily. Alex seems to learn new words every day. He knows his colors, can count, and can identify several letters of the alphabet. He loves doing puzzles, taking care of his stuffed animals, and wearing his crocs. Alex started sleeping in a big boy bed when we moved and doesn't miss his crib at all. Aidan continues to amaze us with his questions and observations. He has become quite the negotiator and can get almost anyone to go along with almost anything he says. He has learned how to add and subtract using his fingers and loves doing "math." He is also quite the speller and loves sounding out words. Both boys are very good helpers and have adjusted to all of the changes of the last few months seamlessly.
Here are some pictures from January:
